CCM TO BUILD PLANT IN BANGI

Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd (CCM) will build a pharmaceutical facility adjacent to its current plant in Bangi to meet the increasing demand from Malaysia and the region. CCM Pharmaceuticals, a business division of CCM, recently signed a US$14.6 million turnkey contract with Sembcorp (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for construction of Phase I of the new facility. The current CCM Pharmaceuticals facility is running at near capacity, CCM said in a statement yesterday. Construction work on the new facility is expected to start within the next quarter. The facility is expected to be in operation by the second quarter of 2007.
