ADVANCED LIFE SCIENCES SETS IPO AT 4.5 MILLION SHARES

Antibiotic drug maker Advanced Life Sciences Holdings Inc. set its planned initial public offering at 4.5 million shares at an estimated price of $11 to $13 per share. The Woodridge, Ill.-based company said in an amended prospectus filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that the underwriters may buy an additional 675,000 shares to cover over-allotments. C.E. Unterberg, Towbin; ThinkEquity Partners; and Merriman Curhan Ford are underwriting the offering.
