MISONIX GETS CANADIAN LICENSE FOR WOUND DEBRIDER

June 29, 2005

Misonix, a developer of ultrasonic medical device technology for the treatment of cancer and other healthcare purposes, has received a Canadian device license for its Ultrasonic Wound Debridement System.

The Canadian approval follows on the heels of the device's recent FDA 510(k) approval. On June 13, Misonix was given clearance to market the product for the specific purpose of wound debridement in the U.S.

As part of the product launch initiatives for the Ultrasonic Wound Debrider in Canada and the U.S., Misonix has commenced discussions with potential strategic distribution partners and is also contemplating direct sales efforts in niche markets. Distribution channel partnerships and marketing plans will be announced upon the commercial launch of the product in the third calendar quarter of this year.
