MEIJI DAIRIES, TAKEDA PHARMACEUTICAL DISSOLVE PARTNERSHIP IN HAY FEVER DRUG DEVELOPMENT

Meiji Dairies has agreed with Takeda Pharmaceutical to terminate their joint development contract for TAK-201, a drug candidate for treating hay fever. Since November 2000, the two companies have jointly been conducting research and development for the candidate, but the results of Phase III clinical trials were unsatisfactory. Consequently, Takeda Pharmaceutical made a proposal to terminate the contract and Meiji Dairies agreed.
