SCHERING-PLOUGH, SANKYO IN LICENSE DEAL FOR OLMESARTAN IN LATIN COUNTRIES

Schering-Plough Corp said it has entered into a license agreement with Sankyo Company Ltd for olmesartan for the treatment of hypertension. Under the terms of the agreement, Sankyo has granted Schering-Plough exclusive rights to market olmesartan in Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. In addition, Schering-Plough and Sankyo will co-market the product in Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
