LIPID SCIENCES NARROWS LOSS

Lipid Sciences Inc., reported Tuesday it lost $2.6 million in the second quarter ended June 30, compared with a loss of $3.6 million in the same quarter last year. The company said its operating expenses for the quarter were $2.7 million, down from $3.5 million in the same quarter a year ago. Lipid (NASDAQ:LIPD) said it expects to start a human clinical trial during the first quarter of 2006 of an atherosclerosis treatment it has so far tested only in monkeys.
