ABBOTT LABS GETS EXPANDED HUMIRA EU OK

Health-care products maker Abbott Laboratories Inc. said Monday that it received expanded European approval for the rheumatoid arthritis drug Humira to treat earlier forms of the disease and to treat psoriatic arthritis. The European Commission approved the treatment following Abbott's application in December. The company also filed with the Food and Drug Administration at the same time and expects a similar approval by the end of the year.
