BIOPURE ANNOUNCES 2005 THIRD QUARTER FINANCIAL RESULTS

Biopure Corporation (Nasdaq: BPUR - News) announced today its financial results for the third fiscal quarter ended July 31, 2005. For the quarter, the company reported a net loss of $6.4 million, or $0.26 per common share, compared with a net loss of $9.4 million, or $1.16 per common share, for the corresponding period in 2004. The loss per common share for the third quarter of fiscal 2004 has been adjusted to reflect the one-for-six reverse stock split that took effect on May 27, 2005.
