MAYNE POSTS 14.7% DROP IN FY PROFIT, SAYS DEMERGER ON TRACK

Mayne Group Limited (MAY) today announced a 2004/05 full year net profit of $80.5 million, down 14.7% on the previous year. The healthcare company commented that it continued to make good progress in developing its demerger proposal, announced in June this year. Mayne previously advised the market of its intention to separately list its injectable pharmaceuticals business Mayne Pharma, as well as its domestic healthcare businesses.
