ROCHE DONATES 3 MILLION COURSES OF FLU DRUG TO WHO FOR PANDEMIC RESPONSE

Swiss drugmaker Roche has donated three million treatment courses of the flu drug Tamiflu to the World Health Organization to be used to help slow or prevent any flu pandemic, WHO director general Lee Jong-wook announced Wednesday. As part of the donation, Roche has agreed to pay for the cost of flying the drug to an affected area when WHO decides it's needed there, Lee said at a news conference in Geneva.
