SMITH & NEPHEW'S CAS SYSTEM TO ALLOW PRECISE KNEE IMPLANTS

Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics (NYSE: SNN) (LSE: SN) today announced the launch of AchieveCAS(TM) for computer-assisted knee implant surgery. AchieveCAS(TM) is a computer system with custom-designed software, infrared camera and surgical instruments. The system is designed to allow the surgeon to navigate a total knee during surgery, allowing surgeons to more precisely place implants, particularly within smaller incisions, through enhanced guidance and visualization. AchieveCAS(TM) is already available for hip implants.
