SUPPORT FOR REVIEW OF PHARMAC FUNDING

A survey showing support for an independent review of government medicine funding agency Pharmac has been backed by the Researched Medicines Industry Association (RMI). The RMI spoke out yesterday following the release of a survey commissioned by drug company Pfizer that said 68 per cent of 750 people surveyed supported the review. The survey, carried out by UMI Insight, showed most people believed there needed to be better access to new medicines and doctors should have more input into Pharmac's decisions.
