CIMCON Releases New Version of PAT Software

May 23, 2006

Chelmsford, Mass.-based CIMCON Software has unveiled a new version of its eProcessinfo process intelligence system for the life science industry. The company says eProcessinfo is a process analytical technology (PAT) tool that can replace paper records with electronic records to reduce costs and accelerate return on investment (ROI).

The purpose is to change existing processes and business data assets into intelligence for process optimization, real-time monitoring, greater manufacturing efficiencies and improved regulatory compliance. When first released, the company says, eProcessinfo was the first Part 11-compliant PAT tool for process intelligence.

The system is already in use at a number of regulated manufacturing sites, where it connects to variegated data sources to provide real-time insights and refined intelligence. The new release is meant to provide enhanced capabilities to aggregate data from a wide variety of data sources, such as real-time data historians and enterprise data management systems including ERP, MES and LIMS.

The software also allows manual data entry and storage of batch records or other data using graphical forms. The system enables web-based cross-application reporting and integrated data analytics such as trending, charting and statistical analysis. The system features privileges for creating, modifying and viewing data sets or queries, a complete audit trail or when queries were created, modified or run, and configurable e-signatures. Data can be exported directly to Part 11-compliant Excel spreadsheets with cell-level audit trails.

CIMCON Software provides solutions that are compliant with both Part 11 and good x practices (GxP) regulations (which include good laboratory practices, good manufacturing practices and good clinical practices). The company specializes in real-time data communications and database management.
