UTAH MEDICAL, FDA TRIAL RESCHEDULED

The U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City, Utah, has rescheduled the beginning date for the trial of the lawsuit filed in August 2004 on behalf of the FDA alleging quality system regulation violations by medical devicemaker Utah Medical Products.

The trial will either begin on Sept. 26 or the alternative date, Nov. 9. The alternative date will occur if FDA counsel is unable to attend Sept. 26 due to a scheduling conflict with another trial. According to FDA counsel, Utah Medical should know by Sept. 13 if the latter trial date is required.

UTMD said it looks forward to finally resolving the matter, and remains confident that the company's quality system complies with all applicable regulations.
