HEART DEVICE CONFERENCE PLANNED FOR FRIDAY

The Heart Rhythm Society is hosting a conference Friday in cooperation with FDA to provide a productive forum among physicians, other healthcare providers, the medical device industry, government agencies and the public to discuss the current process for ICD and pacemaker recalls and communication of device performance. The Policy Conference on Pacemaker and ICD Performance will include an overview of current policy and practices, expert panels, FDA, physicians and industry and will provide interaction and discussion among attendees. Emphasis will be placed on exploring alternatives to current policy and recommending improvements.
