INEX PHARMACEUTICALS FIGHTS BANKRUPTCY PETITION IN B.C. COURT

Inex Pharmaceuticals Corp., a specialist in anti-cancer drugs, says it will fight a bankruptcy petition filed Tuesday in B.C. Supreme Court. The Vancouver-based firm (TSX:IEX) said Wednesday that noteholder Stark Trading and Shepherd Investments International Ltd. filed a petition seeking to have Inex declared bankrupt and its property sent into receivership. Stark has asked for the petition to be heard Oct. 11. Stark is the majority holder of certain promissory notes issued by subsidiary Inex International Holdings and due April 2007.
