ALEXION PHARMACEUTICALS REPORTS FOURTH QUARTER AND YEAR END RESULTS & FISCAL 2006 OUTLOOK

Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXN) today announced financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended July 31, 2005. For the quarter ended July 31, 2005, Alexion (the "Company") reported revenues of $203,000 compared to $4.15 million for the same period last year. During the fourth quarter last year, the Company had recognized a $4 million milestone payment from Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals ("P&G") related to the APEX-AMI trial.
