AMERISOURCEBERGEN BUYS TRENT DRUGS

Pharmaceutical distributor AmerisourceBergen Corp. said Wednesday it bought Trent Drugs, one of Canada's largest drug distributors, for $83 million, including a $43 million assumption of debt. The company said the addition of Trent will increase fiscal 2006 earnings by 1 to 2 cents per share. Kingston, Ontario-based Trent generated about $500 million in revenue over the last twelve months. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial are expecting fiscal 2006 earnings of $4.02 on sales of $53.95 billion.
