SUVEN LIFE WINS CONTRACT FOR CLINICAL STUDY

Suven Life Sciences has started a 12-month, multicenter Phase III clinical study for chronic low back pain in India as part of a $2 million contract. The contract is for a period of 18 months.

The contract is part of a global study focused on discovery, in-licensing, development and commercialization of novel drug candidates for central nervous system (CNS) cardiovascular disorders and pain management. One of the products under development for chronic low back pain has reached the stage of Phase III clinical trials. About 1,550 patients are being enrolled globally for pain management. A part of the study is being conducted in India, with a minimum enrollment of 300 patients.
