ACUSPHERE GETS NYCOMED TRADEMARK PAYMENT

Specialty drug maker Acusphere Inc. said Monday that it received accelerated license fees from Nycomed Danmark APS to trademark the ultrasound contrast agent AI-700. The $150,000 payment is the first of $58 million in milestone-based license fees from the companies' collaboration that was formed in July 2004. Acusphere has already received about $9 million in upfront fees and research and development funding and expects three more payments of $1 million each over the next nine months.
