GLAXOSMITHKLINE PROFIT UP ON SALES GROWTH

Pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline PLC posted a 19 percent increase in quarterly net profit Thursday, as it reported strong sales growth across all regions and key drugs. Glaxo said that net profit for the three months ending Sept. 30 was 1.25 billion pounds ($2.2 billion), up from 1.05 billion pounds a year ago. Revenue increased 11 percent to 5.47 billion pounds ($9.71 billion), from 4.92 billion pounds a year ago.
