FDA CONSIDERS SAFETY OF NEEDLELESS INJECTIONS
October 31, 2005
The use of multiuse jet injectors (MUNJIs) - a needleless form of injection — is uncommon in the United States, and has been since the mid-1980s. While
millions of injections were given using MUNJIs during the middle part of the
20th century, controversy surrounding the devices has since effectively shut
down the market, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and
the World Health Organization (WHO) recommending strict limitations on their
usage.
