ACCELLENT INC. STOCKHOLDERS APPROVE MERGER WITH AN AFFILIATE

Accellent, the largest provider of integrated contract manufacturing and design services to the medical device industry, recently announced that at a special meeting of its stockholders held in Denver, Colorado, the stockholders of Accellent approved the merger of an affiliate of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. with and into Accellent. The closing of the transaction is expected to be completed before the end of 2005, and is subject to customary closing conditions, including the obtaining of certain regulatory approvals.
