BIOPHAN REPORT DISCUSSES MRI'S FUTURE USES

November 7, 2005

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) will be used for more than diagnostic applications in the future, with the device being used for interventional purposes, a recent paper published by Biophan Technologies says.

According to the paper, "Interventional MRI — Therapy Applications in the Magnet," the device will likely be used in a number of interventional applications in cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, and surgery. However, a MRI's electromagnetic environment can create safety problems in a wide range of medical devices, such as pacemakers or neurostimulators. The company claims that it has developed solutions to address this risk.

The report references links that explain those solutions. The report can be accessed at http://www.biophan.com/articles/2005/102005Iamers.pdf (http://www.biophan.com/articles/2005/102005Iamers.pdf)
