DRUGMAKER BIOVAIL MORE THAN DOUBLES Q3 PROFIT TO US$101.7M; REVENUE UP 21%

Third-quarter earnings at Biovail Corp. more than doubled from a year ago as revenue increased 21 per cent, and the company said Friday it has raised its profit expectation for the year. The Mississauga, Ont.-based drugmaker, which reports in U.S. dollars, said its July-September revenue totalled $258.1 million, up from $213.6 million in the third quarter of 2004.
