LABOPHARM, RECORDATI IN U.K. DISTRIBUTION DEAL

Canadian drugmaker Labopharm Inc. (DDS.TO: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Wednesday it has signed European pharmaceutical Recordati (RECI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) to distribute its once-daily tramadol painkiller in the United Kingdom.
Under the agreement, Recordati will have the exclusive right to market and sell Labopharm's tramadol and Labopharm will receive an upfront payment and additional payments upon achieving certain milestones.
