TYCO TAPS TOOLSGROUP TO PROVIDE INVENTORY SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS

Device firm Tyco Healthcare Group has selected ToolsGroup, a supplier of inventory software, to provide a technology solution to improve its inventory efficiency and service levels.

To meet Tyco Healthcare Group's goals of lower inventory with industry-leading fill rates, the firm needed to take its network inventory modeling granularity to the next level, said Peter Sturtevant, Tyco's vice president of supply chain solutions and transportation. "We selected ToolsGroup to add to our arsenal of tools because we could rapidly model and satisfy our requirements with an off-the-shelf solution," he said.

Tyco will use ToolsGroup's DPM software product. With DPM, executives can plan customer service policies at very high fill rates and then optimize the global inventory mix and allocation across the supply chain to meet them, ToolsGroup said.

In addition, the same software can be used for strategic studies and operations, ensuring that Tyco Healthcare executives will see the same results in practice as they did in their plans, the company added.
