DOMESTIC FIRM MAKES GENERIC TAMIFLU

Hanmi Pharmaceutical has produced a generic version of Tamiflu, the only available influenza drug, on a trial basis. The Korean company said Monday it will submit the trial product to the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) soon. The Swiss pharmaceuticals giant Roche, which holds the rights to the drug, offered to jointly produce the drug with Korean pharmaceutical firms, and the KFDA asked domestic firms to submit generic versions by Dec. 5.
