MICRUS ENDOVASCULAR LAUNCHES PRESIDIO MICROCOIL TO TREAT LARGE, IRREGULAR CEREBRAL ANEURYSMS

Micrus Endovascular recently announced the worldwide market launch of its Presidio Microcoil product line for the treatment of large cerebral aneurysms. The Presidio Microcoil is a single, stretch resistant microcoil designed to deliver stable, predictable aneurysm framing and to increase coverage of the aneurysm wall and neck with a single coil deployment. The Presidio Microcoil incorporates a bioactive filament that independent researchers suggest may accelerate the healing process. These findings were presented in October of this year at the 8th Congress of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology.
