DELPHI MEDICAL EXPANDS GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION OF INFUSION PUMP

Delphi Medical Systems, a subsidiary of Delphi Corp., has signed an exclusive agreement with Alliance Medical to distribute its IVantage infusion pumps, accessories and disposables in the U.S., Delphi said.

The IVantage, a dual battery-operated and AC-powered pump, is designed to be clipped onto various accessories, such as IV poles and wheelchairs. It also comes with a strap and can be used as a handheld device.

"IVantage is the most versatile ambulatory pump on the market today," said Garrett Brown, chief operating officer at Alliance Medical. "With the cost advantage, ease of use and safety at the base of the technology, we know as a distributor that we will see great and rapid market penetration with this product."

The distribution agreement complements Delphi's earlier agreement with Fresenius Kabi in Europe and Asia Pacific, and other agreements in Central and South America, for the IVantage infusion pump - now totaling more than $100 million in bookings, said Christophe Sevrain, managing director of Delphi Medical Systems. The distribution agreement with Alliance Medical means the IVantage infusion pump will now be distributed throughout most of the world, underlining the company's global reach, he added.
