MEDICAL SERVICES EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION TO MIDDLE EAST

Alberta, Canada-based Medical Services International announced that it has received an order from a Dubai-based company for one million VScan test kits.

The VScan rapid test kits are single use, disposable tests for screening various diseases, including HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, malaria and prostate cancer. The majority of the kits ordered will be the VScan HIV kits, Medical Services said. The ease of use and accuracy, especially with whole blood, was the reason for the order, the company added.

The order, which will be delivered from Jan. 31, 2006 to Dec. 31, 2006, will generate revenues in excess of U.S. $2.9 million, Medical Services said. According to the Dubai company, based on anticipated changes to the regulations allowing visitors in the country, the order could significantly increase.
