SCHERING TO CUT 65-120 JOBS AT JENAPHARM UNIT AS PART OF COST PROGRAM

Schering AG said it intends to cut between 65-120 jobs at its subsidiary Jenapharm GmbH & Co KG as part of its FOCUS cost cutting program. It said discussions with employees' representatives will begin shortly. Schering said Jenapharm's research arm will be integrated into Schering's research operations in Berlin, development activities will be scaled down and administrative functions adapted.
