HEMOSENSE PICKS IDEO TO DESIGN BLOOD COAGULATION MONITOR

HemoSense has selected IDEO to design the next-generation INRatio PT/INR monitor for the management of warfarin medication, the firm said.

The INRatio system is used in healthcare settings and at home to monitor blood coagulation in patients taking warfarin, a blood-thinning drug. IDEO designed the current INRatio monitor, which is noted for its simple design, integrated quality control tests, ease of use and accurate results requiring only a single drop of whole blood, HemoSense said.

"The ongoing success of the current INRatio system was a key factor in selecting IDEO to partner with us again to design the next-generation system," said Maria Navarro, executive vice president of operations, research and development for HemoSense.
