ADVAMED APPOINTS NEW GENERAL COUNSEL

February 6, 2006

The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) appointed Christopher White, an attorney with more than 15 years experience in health care law, to be the association's new General Counsel, effective Feb. 1.

As General Counsel, White will serve as AdvaMed's chief legal officer, providing counsel on commercial contracts, corporate transactions and regulatory matters. He will also work with the association's legal Committee to develop and promote positions on issues impacting patient access to medical technology.

"Chris has a breadth of knowledge of the legal issues affecting the medical technology industry that is second to none," said AdvaMed President Stephen Ubl in a press statement. "His extensive experience in the areas of business, finance, regulation and legislation, among others, will be an invaluable asset to AdvaMed as we promote the industry's agenda on issues such as protection of intellectual property and legal liability reform, as well as our continued efforts to communicate the importance of our Code of Ethics."
