N. AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC GETS KIT APPROVAL

Medical device maker North American Scientific Inc. said Tuesday that the Food and Drug Administration approved its line of preloaded needle kits for radiation implants used in prostate cancer treatment.
The company's shares jumped 48 cents, or 22.8 percent, to $2.57 in morning trading on the Nasdaq.
