HUMAN GENOME SCIENCES REPORTS FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR FULL YEAR AND FOURTH QUARTER 2005

Human Genome Sciences, Inc. financial results for the quarter and full-year periods ended December 31, 2005, and reiterated guidance for financial results anticipated for 2006. The Company's net loss for 2005, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), was $239.4 million, or $1.83 per share. This compares to the net loss for 2004 of $242.9 million, or $1.87 per share.
