THERMAGE RECEIVES CANADIAN OK FOR OFF-FACE PROCEDURES

February 22, 2006

Thermage has reported that is non-invasive skin-tightening system has received regulatory clearance from Health Canada.

The ThermaCool system has already been cleared for the non-surgical tightening of periorbital land facial tissue. The new indication gives clinicians regulatory clearance to treat off-face, an area in high demand from consumers who are looking for younger-looking and tighter skin on their arms, abdomen, thighs and buttocks. The ThermaCool System was recently cleared in the U.S. by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles and rhytids.

Thermage also recently received Canadian clearance to market its new 3.0cm ThermaTip. Twice as large as the current 1.5 cm Thermatip, it enables physicians to treat areas twice as large.
