BIOMARIN ANNOUNCES FOURTH QUARTER AND YEAR-END 2005 FINANCIAL RESULTS

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. today announced results for its fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2005. The net loss was $15.0 million ($0.20 per share) for the fourth quarter of 2005 compared to $82.4 million ($1.28 per share) for the fourth quarter of 2004. The net loss was $74.3 million ($1.08 per share) for the year ended December 31, 2005 compared to a net loss of $187.4 million ($2.91 per share) for the year ended December 31, 2004.
