SCHERING UP AMID PHARMA SECTOR TAKEOVER TALK

Schering (SHR) +5.8% at EUR65.72, soaring amid pharma sector takeover speculation, say traders. Traders point to talk of a bid by Novartis (NVS) for either AstraZeneca (AZN) or Schering. However this speculation is nothing new and is always being rehashed, says one. Schering declines to comment, however spokesman points out that the share buyback is being carried out as planned.
