METROLOGIC AND SPACELABS SIGN GLOBAL AGREEMENT

Metrologic Instruments has signed a worldwide agreement with Spacelabs Medical, a patient-monitoring division of Spacelabs Healthcare.

Under the terms of the multiyear agreement, Spacelabs will market and sell Metrologic bar code scanners for use with the Spacelabs range of patient monitors.

"As we move closer to the implementation of electronic health records throughout the healthcare system, technologies like bar code scanning are critical to reducing error and managing patient data securely and efficiently," said Jonathan Lauer, vice president of global strategic marketing at Spacelabs.

Spacelabs Medical is a global manufacturer and distributor of patient-monitoring systems for critical care and anesthesia, clinical information connectivity solutions, ambulatory blood pressure monitors and medical data services.
