REPORT SAYS GLAXOSMITHKLINE HAS PULLED OUT OF DEAL WITH SERONO S.A.

GlaxoSmithKline has walked away from a possible deal to purchase Serono S.A., according to the Business, a British financial publication. Serono S.A. had tried to sell itself in an auction earlier this year, the report says, but found no buyers. After the Jan. 20 deadline for bids passed, GlaxoSmithKline indicated that it was interested in negotiating for the company.
