TOSHIBA SYSTEM FEATURES DETECTORS FOR IMPROVED IMAGING

March 15, 2006

Toshiba America Medical Systems unveiled its new Infinix DP-i/FD2 vascular X-ray system at the American College of Cardiology's (ACC) 55th Annual Scientific Session, being held in Atlanta, Ga.

The Infinix DP-i/FD2 is designed as one system that operates like two, and is equipped with two flat panel detectors. It is the only single lab that meets ACC guidelines for both cardiac and peripheral work.

Toshiba said the system allows physicians to obtain the high-quality images needed for both detailed peripheral vascular work and coronary studies and enables clinicians to perform both studies on the same table without having to move the patient. The system allows 20 frames per second fluoroscopy as a tableside option, reducing the patient dose by 25 percent without comprising image quality.
