WHO CALLS FOR ACTION TO ENSURE MEDICATION FOR THE POOR

All countries need to take action to ensure that poor people, mainly in developing countries, have access to necessary medication, the World Health Organization (WHO) suggested on Monday. "Over half of the people in the poorest parts of Africa and Asia lack regular access to existing essential medicines because they cannot afford them, or because the health system in their country is too weak," said the WHO in a newly released report.
