SOMAXON'S SILENOR EFFECTIVE FOR INSOMNIA

Somaxon Pharmaceuticals has announced that results from its Phase III trial of Silenor demonstrated the drug is effective in treating insomnia.

The four-week trial showed that patients taking either a 3 mg or 6 mg Silenor tablet nightly had a longer, more efficient sleep than patients taking a placebo. Both dosages of Silenor were well-tolerated, and side effects were not observed.
