ALCON INC. IS ON THE DECLINE THIS MORNING

Alcon Inc. reported first quarter EPS of $0.95 after the close on Monday, compared to the $0.80 reported last year. The results were reduced by $0.07 per share, due to the expensing of share-based compensation expense. The company now expects to report full year 2006 EPS between $4.03 and $4.12, which includes $0.17 per share of share-based compensation expense.
