BALCHEM CORPORATION ANNOUNCES FIRST QUARTER 2006 RESULTS

Record net sales of $24.6 million were achieved for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. This is an increase of 27.2% above the $19.3 million result of the prior year comparable quarter. Net earnings for the first quarter were $2.9 million, an increase of $0.3 million, or 11.3% as compared with the same period last year, and includes a $0.25 million expense recognizing the impact of SFAS 123R (equity based compensation) for the first time.
