PATENT ISSUED FOR NEW VASCULAR DISORDERS TREATMENT

Predix Pharmaceuticals has received a patent from the PTO for PRX-08066, designed to treat conditions associated with serotonin action.

The company said PRX-08066 is effective in treating such vascular disorders as angina, pulmonary hypertension and migraines by selective dilation of diseased pulmonary blood vessels and inhibiting the thickening of pulmonary artery vessels. It has completed three Phase I clinical trials on healthy volunteers.

Predix is also exploring other possible uses for PRX-08066, such as treating irritable bowel syndrome.
