NOVAVAX ADDED TO NASDAQ BIOTECH INDEX

Novavax, Inc. said today that it has been added to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index as of May 19, 2006. Novavax has traded on the exchange since July 10, 2001. "This is an important recognition of Novavax as a seasoned public company," said Novavax President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rahul Singhvi. "We continue to move forward in our goal of developing unique vaccines that protect against contagious diseases, such as the H5N1 pandemic influenza, that endanger public health around the world."
