BAYER'S SCHERING BUY UNCONDITIONALLY CLEARED BY EU

The European Commission said it has cleared the proposed acquisition of the German pharmaceutical company Schering AG by Bayer AG also of Germany. The commission said the activities of the parties are mainly complementary with the main overlaps in a few over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription antifungal markets.
