ABBOTT DENIES RU486 CLAIM

Health Minister Tony Abbott has denied a claim by a pharmaceutical industry insider that he threatened drug companies against marketing abortion pill RU486. Earlier this year, parliament stripped Mr Abbott, a devout Catholic, of his power to control the drug.
